Materials - Vespel®
The best properties of plastics, metals, and ceramics in one
Vespel® by DuPont is a product family that includes five types of this high performance polyimide resin. The unfilled grade is ideal for electrical and thermal insulation applications, while filled grades maximize the benefits of low wear, low friction, high strength, high chemical resistance, and excellent performance under extreme temperature conditions.
Lubricated or unlubricated, parts made of Vespel® offer designers exceptional flexibility to meet the demands of harsh operating environments. The material is also easily machined to tight tolerances with standard metal-working equipment.
